What kind of an electric guitar would be best quality for a low price?

Question:Ok. well i play acoustic guitar and i think its time to get an electric guitar, and i was wondering, what type of guitar can i get that is not crappy and for a low price

It depends on what kind of music are you are playing really.
If you want rock I'd say...

1. Gibson Melody Maker for $350
2. Epiphone Les Paul or SG for $300
3. Ibanez RG line...any model really

yeah, DO NOT get a fender squire. they suck. to be honest, if you want a quality guitar, i'd bite the bullet and fork over the cash for a nice one. try a gibson, i love those. www.theperfectguitar.com has some good deals around three or four hunderd dollars.

you could also try going to a local music store [do you have a guitar center near you?] and ask a dealer there what they would recommend. good luck!

I have to disagree about the Squier Strat. My daughter has one, and it's great.
However, go to your local music shop and see what's in your price range, bearing in mind you need an amp as well. Try them out. Hope this helps
