A musical prodigy is a musical genious basically. I think that they fascinate us so much because they are not the norm in our society and being good at music is in their nature. It's almost like their way of breathing.

someone who has natural affinity or natural talent rather than needing the endless hours of developing the skills that it takes the rest of us. it's fascinating to watch someone do something you know to be difficult and make it look effortless.

it always takes time and effort to hone your craft - prodigies seem to have it a little easier than the rest of us, and many times we like to be a part of that magic, that unknown quality that enables them to be so special.

There are far more prodigies than anyone suspects. Cultural strictures, prejudice, parental confusion all work against an early show of talent. It sometimes only takes one negative comment by an adult to a gifted child to turn away from their talent.
The rampant confusion in societies around the world about the nature of life and how to develop it creates great harm. The children with strong talents are some of the most vulnerable individuals because they find out very early that they may be different from other children and, if they don't get compensatory support from home, face a life of questions and frustration..
