i have played guitar for years,,,there is no one more simple than another,, they all play the same way,,, now a smaller neck one might be easier to use to start out with, but there is none easier than another, if u really have no patience get a cheap one as learning any instrument takes lots of patience, that way u are not out a lot of money,, i learned to play on a fender strat squier,, nice sound,, smaller, light weight..

Whatever guitar you choose, your going to have to have a lot of patience. I'd say your best bet is a regular acoustic. I don't play guitar, but my friend does. He just started about a month ago, and he's already really good at it!

Regular acoustic... You'll learn the most. Plus, you'll learn the basics. good luck.

ibanez has a great starter kit including the amp. my son got one a few years ago and has come a long way. comes with a book and a interactive cd.

just get a chord chart and look up how to read one.
it's simple and you'll be able to play many songs.
have fun with it. I love guitar! Best of luck!

ps.
Thin picks are best to play with

Well, there is no way! Guitar takes patience. So does everything else.

little patience? Don't even bother starting then.

No patience, huh?
None.
No matter what guitar you get, you're going spend countless weeks just practicing everyday for as long as you can if you want to get good. Guitar isn't one of those instruments where you just pick up play. If you have little patience, try a different one.
I'd say electric is a good beginner one. It plays a better variety of music, looks cooler, and is overall easier to master.

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is a good beginner's song. It will require patience if you want to succeed though. Nothing about any instrument comes without work and dedication. It is a labor of love. If you want to be an instant rock god, then just play video games or the air guitar.

accoustic...im really good at it already and im only 12
and now im learning electric.

Practice, practice, practice. The BEST guitarists I know have had little to no professional training. Going on to Google and typing in Guitar Tabs is a great way to begin. Good luck! Keep a daily routine as to practice schedule and Start on a Classical 5 string Accousitc guitar making sure you buy the stongest strings at first cuz you WILL snap a few...that is to be expected especially as you learn to tune and play. Guitars DO NOT play the same way. When purchasing one, go ahead and play it in the shop and make sure it is Comfortable for YOU. Yes it is frustrating..keep going...that is how Robert Plant, James Taylor and others started!

Many people have mentioned mainly steel string acoustic guitars and electric guitars. I would recommend starting on a nylon strung classical guitar. The reasons for this are: 1) Just because you play on a classical guitar doesn't mean you have to play classical music...2) Classical guitars have a wider neck which is very helpful when you are learning your close finger placement....3) Nylon strings are less harsh on your fingertips....4) The tone is more resonant for learning actual simple songs rather than just strumming chords. You can find very inexpensive classical nylon-strung guitars such as Yamaha brand. Once you learn the basics on a student guitar and you know you want to stick with it, you can look more into what style you want to play and that determines what type of guitar you want to buy next, such as an electric or acoustic. Main point overall is that you have to enjoy it in order to be motivated to play it.
