Another guitar amp question?

Question:ok so i know that i want i line 6 amp. probably a 150 watt. a buddy of mine has one and i really like it. im pretty sure he has a line 6 spider 3 amp 150 watt. its a great amp, but i have been looing at used line 6 amps and i see a line 6 spider 2 amp 150 watt. so i want to know what is the difference? i guess the spider 3 is the newer version but what is better on the spider 3.

spider amp 3 is louder - it has a tube power amp and theoretically has tube preamps.

there is not much of a tone difference, to my ears, between the two. In other words, the big spider 3 150w with a tube power amp sounds almost identically to the 15w lin6 amp my friend has. I'm not a fan of the tone, and so I'm not wild about it.

so, unless you really need stupid large amounts of volume, i don't see a huge benefit in going with the spider 3 over the spider 2.

i was really surprised how little difference the tubes made, except to make them (as I said earlier) just stupid loud.
