Seussical-Gertrude...?

Question:I just got the role of Gertrude today in my school's production of Seussical. Auditions were on Wednesday. For my audition I had to sing and then the judges asked me to sing another song. Then today for callbacks, the judges from other schools werent there, but the director was. She said they already picked who was Gertrude and Horton. I didnt get any callbacks, so now im Gertrude! Anyway, what are some ways I can REALLY get into her character? Any Gertrudes out there?
