Question:i NEED SOME ADVISE.

I HAVE GOT 2 AMPS, A LANEY 1 X12 50WATT TUBE AND A IBANEZ 25WATT ALSO HAVE A CHEAP PRACTISE AMP. 10 WATT 4 INCH SPEAKER.

I AM TRYING TO GET THE BEST SOUND.

I HAVE THE FOLLOWING EFFECTS.

ANNOTHER TUBE SCREAMER " I USE THIS ONE AS A TREBLE BOOSTER, GAIN ON ZERO, TONE MAX, I KEEP THIS ONE IN CIRCUIT AT ALL TIME.

AND I USE A DIFFERENT TUBESCREAMER AND BLUES DRIVER FOR DISTORION LEAD AND CHORD TONE.

i SWITCH BETWEEN THESE TWO IF i WANT A CLEANER LEAD CHORD SOUND I USE TUBESCREAMER, DIRTIER I USE BLUES DRIVER.

I JUST GOT A GR 30 GUITAR SYNTH, THAT iD LIKE TO YOU AND I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO SET IT UP.

ALSO ON MY LANEY MY MAIN AMP THERE IS A EFFECT LOOP. SHOULD I PUT THE PEDALS THERE ?

ALSO DO I NEED TO USE SEPARATE AMPS FOR THE GUITAR SYNTH AND MY GUITAR WITH PEDALS?

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVISE

THANKS
PAUL

Here's some advice. TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK. IT'S WAY TOO DIFFICULT TO READ AND ON THE INTERNET ALL CAPS SIGNIFY SHOUTING, AND SHOUTING YOUR ENTIRE QUESTION IS REALLY RUDE!!!

It would be a good idea to send the GR30 synth out to it's own amp (a clean, non-distorting, full range one) rather than having the synth sounds pass through a guitar amp that would add distortions and effects inappropriate for the synth sound. That way you can control the sound quality of your guitars sounds without distorting, say, a piano sound you may create with the synth.
The best thing to do is try setting up in as many different ways you can and then jam for a while with each set-up to see what works for you, because different people will find that different setups will work for what you do.
If you're getting all your guitar effects using an outside the amp processor or stomp boxes and you just run your amp clean, I believe you can put your effects in the guitar effects loop of the GR30(I use gr33 so not sure if gr30 has the guitar out and return jacks as well?) and then just run the mix out to your amp.

Good luck and have fun!

Sure! You CAN shout if you want. I'm just sayin' some people might not listen. No offense. Report It

  • You have good gear. I have an Ashdown amp from England. In either case, the effect loop helps eliminate noise.
The Gr 30 is a good synth guitar. I used to showcast them on tour. Don't forget that if you use a piano sound or saxophone sound on this guitar, the sound has to change and you can't use an all around sound for all instruments.
The hardest sound is the piano. I would suggest basing your sound on this as this is the hardest instrument to get a clean sound.
You don't need a separate amp. Tool around with it with what i suggested.
