Position:Home>Performing Arts> Sibelius experts - pasting voices from full score into a piano reduction - i can

Question:For excample I want the sax's and the piano in the right hand, so I paste the sax's inro the piano reduction treble clef and that's fine... until I logically think I can then paste another instrument from my full score into the right hand piano reduction. nstead it just overwrites whatever I paste into the right hand. In other words I can't seem to paste individual parts into a piano reduction - it just thinks I'm overwriting the RH or LH each time with one instrument only.... CAN ANYBODY HELP ME!!!!!!

you can totally do this: don't worry! what you need to do is make sure you're pasting into different voices. unfortunately, i'm at my work computer without a copy of sibelius, but hopefully i can remember properly...

you know on the numeric keypad, where you enter your notes, etc., you can choose between voices 1, 2, 3, and 4. each are represented onscreen in a different color. to place your first voice (the sax, let's say) into the piano rh, copy and paste the sax part in voice one. now copy your second instrument's part and choose voice two to paste it into. voice one should remain completely in tact, with the new instrument being placed stems-down in the second voice of the piano rh.

there is also a feature for automatically creating a piano reduction from a full score. i believe this is in the plug-ins menu, but i haven't used it often, so i can't advise to much on that. i'm sure it's there, though.

hope this helps! good luck.
