Position:Home>Performing Arts> How to sing, like BROADWAY style?

Question:I was just goofing off singing some different songs from Broadway musicals the other day and I discovered that I really enjoyed it-even more than I enjoy singing pop. So I was wondering, how can you improve your voice so it is good enough to sing on Broadway? (I'm not sure if I want to be on Broadway, I just like songs from Broadway musicals and singing them.)

So how can I improve my voice so it is more Broadway-ish?

if that makes sense.
lol

Broadway has many different styles.
Look at all the different shows, and your voice i am sure would fit in one show or another.
But if you want to look at videos and listen closely to each sound made, like where the singer may crescendo or slide it will help you figure how each song should be sung.
Also unlike pop you can always hear emotion in Broadway songs and show tunes. If you were to go to a show you would see emotion in movement, but if you just listen to them you can also hear the emotion.
Just listen to the song you want to sing, read the lyrics, when you do and you understand them, try to sing the song. It will sound as you say "more Broadway-ish" when you understand it and can use emotion. I hope you can go toward the dream.

I recommend choir because they help with singing posture and breathing, and do differnt kinds of music even broadway music and it helps alot trust me im in it.Plus they go with your range so your not cracking too much, but they do help you strech your range so you improve.
