Question:How can you tell if you are a good singer??? I really wanna see if i can make it somewhere with my voice.

Try either American Idol or if you are to young to set up a performance for you family or school and see what they think of it. You can also go on google and see if there are any singing opportunities. You can also try You Tube. They only thing about You Tube is that you can sound different then how you do in real life.

Record yourself singing. Either with an actual voice recorder, or a video with your camera. (Video camera, or if your digital camera has a video option). If you don't have acess to that, there's a trick. Although I don't remember which one is which. Either cover your ears and sing, or pull your ears forward and sing. These make you her yourself better, as opposed to what you think you sound like.

You can have an excellent voice but if you have no flare for performing you're pretty dead in the water. Likewise if you have a flare for performing you can get away with a lot.

If you have choir or chorus or some sort of vocal course at school ask them. If you're not in school try going to a local community college or joining a group--even if it's a church group--to see how well you do.

post a video of you singing on youtube and see what people say about it.. some people just say horrible things cause they have nothing better to do but some people will truly compliment you or at least give you some constructive criticism (which doesn't necessarily mean you are bad.)

Look in your yellow pages and find a voice coach/teacher.
Take lessons, take a drama course too. As previously stated; you can carry a tune but there is so much more to singing than just 'American Idol'..... it's hard work. But a lot of fun!
