squier is a very cheap knock off of the fender guitars. epiphone and gibson are actually pretty close quality wise. go with the epiphone.

acustic in the best fro best results ask a cler at a gutair store

i would say #1

My husband plays Fenders and Gibson (Epiphone), and always seems to like the Fenders better, but I heard him tell his brother in law, when he started playing, play both and then decide. Even the same guitar will sometimes "finger" differently. Take some time, before you decide.

Well in my opinion an acoustic guitar is much better for beginners, I'm not a guitar expert but I found that the lighter weight and the softer strings were very helpful with learning. With an electric guitar like the ones your linking will really hurt your fingers until they get tougher. Also for a beginner go as cheap as you can go. Also get an electric tuner if you can.

I think it's a shame that beginners suffer through using such crappy instruments, which impede efficient learning and get one used to poor sound quality. The only good fenders are the american models...they say made in usa right on it. Epiphones are cheapo imitations of Gibsons. Here's a link to a real guitar I purchaced a couple years back. About half the price of a Fender(american) or Gibson but plays and sounds great. Cost is higher than you're looking at but if your serious you should check out stuff like this. I hear Ibanez make some good ones as well.

Picking a guitar is a very personal thing and nobody can suggest "which one is the better one". You need to finger each model and make sure you can easily slide up and down the neck and also make sure the frets are not too high. Play a complete scale of notes so you can hear the "tones" making sure they are nice and mellow. A classical guitar is better because it has a beautiful voice and a nice deep mellow voice on the low notes. An electric guitar is the latest fad for youngsters because they see the "hard rock" artists just making noise with it. I strongly recommend a classical - I have a Yamaha but Fender also makes good guitars. Visit a large store near your town that carries a large selection and finger several then decide. Some stores will let you "borrow" one with a small deposit so you can practice with it for 2 or 3 days. If you find that offer, take it. it's worth the small fee you will pay. Once you decide which ones sounds best to you, then you put down the big bucks.
