Instrument?

Question:Do you or did you play an instrument in band? If so which one and did you like it or would you go back and change what you picked?

I play the clarinet, and I like it, but sometimes I wish I'd played the sax.

Great question..

I play the trumpet..it wasn't my first choice (I wanted to play the baritone horn), but I do like it a lot. I specifically like it because it's not very common at my school to find female trumpet players, so it makes me stand out a little more. If I could do it over again, though, I would probably pick saxophone or clarinet.

I've actually set a goal of trying every instrument before I graduate high school (in 2009), but so far I've only gotten lessons on the flute and baritone.

Why not pick up the sax now. Most sax players I know play clarinet as well and vice versa.

Well, in elementary school, I played the clarinet and the flute, but in middle and high school, I played the violin in the orchestra and loved it!

I'm a percussionist in my school's band. I'm the best mallet player they've seen since my section leader graduated my freshman year. Now I'm a junior and section leader of the Front Ensemble. I've been in band since the 6th grade and back then I was trying out for the sax. I didn't have the lung capacity for the instrument. I had experience with the piano so I decided the go out for the mallets and ever since, been in the percussion section though since 6th grade, I've broaden my experience with almost every instrument in the section.
