Ibanez guitars are always quality, and they have several in that range that will work very well, and so does Schecter. BC Rich's are suited well to metal, but they will play just about anything. I have a Warlock myself, and it can play anything. I've jammed out country, the odd spot of blues or even reggae on it without problems, and I've personally never found it uncomfortable sitting down. Rich guitars have wonderfully fast and slick necks that you can burn on with distinction. Epiphones......well..not all of them are created equal. Some of the higher end Epi's are pretty good. I've played a few Zakk Wylde Epi's and they played and sounded great, but then again they cost almost a grand, so the good Epiphones may just be out of your price range, and if someone were to throw down 700 or more for an SG or a Paul, it's not a big step up to get a lower cost Gibson, which will still be good. (Have a faded brown SG, it's amazing.) It'd be best for you to go out and play a few of each, and figure it out for yrself. Happy hunting.

I have a bc rich warlock personally i think they are a very good guitar

It really depends on what you want to play. The Ibanez is the best all-around guitar. It's great for everything. The B.C. Rich is a good metal guitar, but very awkward to play while sitting, especially the Warlock. And I would not suggest Epiphone guitars, unless it were an Explorer, to my worst enemies.
