Position:Home>Performing Arts> How did I do on my audition? (rate me)?

Question:1. SCALES-I played my E major scale and it was perfect except for a slight hesitation on the way down. Then I played a Bb major scale (two ocataves) and it was fine except for I had to take a breath at the top.
2. ETUDE #1-I had a good approach but because of my nerves some of the notes didn't speak and I was a little shaky sounding.
3. ETUDE #2- This one went better than the first and I was more accurate although there were a few spots I had minor problems with.
4. MY SOLO (Kennan Sonata)- I only had to play the first page of it and it was amazing! My triple tonging was right on target.
5. SIGHT READING- Wonderful-expressive, good dynamics-only missed one note.

So how do YOU think I did in each of the folling subcategories on a scale of 1-100 for each one?
1. scales 2. tone 3. musical effects 4. rhthyms 5. sight reading

Do you think I made the band? ( 100 or so audtioned and 18 are accepted)

Do you live in Northern Jersey?

Anyway,
Scales probably like a 8 out of 10

Tone honestly i would have to hear you lol but from what u say sounds good

musical effects-I jsut had my Regions auditions (central Jersey) and i too had to play the Kent Kennan sonata. There isnt much challenging on the 1st page so you have to beat everyone else by doing every dynamic marking and every small articulation. since you are saying u sounded amazing ill give u a 9 out of 10 because the judges never give perfects because they are a$$holes.

Sight reading-If you missed 1 note they dont really care. they are looking to see if you can read the rythym on the paper. They actually expect you to miss a lot lol

Overall I think you made it. And if you do live in Jersey, hopefully see you at states on the 19th!

I'm a music person, I played lots of musical instruments, my favorite is the pan flute, anyways where were we? Oh, yeah...
1) Scales: 75
2) Etude #1: 70
3) Etude #2: 79
4) Solo: 100
5) Sight Reading: 99

On the whole, I would say 88.

Hope you made it...Don't mistake G for a D...

Depends on the competition. In surrounding districs you would dominate, but in ours you would just be really good competition.

You sound like you did pretty good, I would bet on you making it. Most people are very down and point out every little mess up. It sounds like you told us all your flaws. If it was that good then you probably made it.

You probably did make it. Triple tonguing is hard to do, let alone double tongue.

sounds like you made it. it also sounds like you need a bit of a reality check on your ego.
