Yamaha has a much better reputation than Peavey when it comes to guitars, but I have never actually owned a Peavey. I've played a couple and had no complaints with them, but I do own several Yamahas and they have all given me superb service.

I own a couple of Peavey amps and they have given me little or no trouble over the last ten or twelve years by the way. I will say that the Yamahas are better, but I wouldn't want to go so far as to say anything bad about Peavey either.

Just call me "Waffleman!"

For years, just about the only guitar I played was a Yamaha FG-75. It hung off my back as I traveled all over the North American Continent. I had a soft shell case for it but I rarely used it. It has suffered everything from being rolled down California street in San Fransisco, by a wino who swore he only wanted to show me a lick he knew, to literaly being tossed off a Chinese Junk (where it luckily landed on some burlap bags) by a buddy of mine who still swears to this day that he thought he heard mr say "Toss it to me!"

I've got quite a few guitars these days but there are two that hang on my wall just over my couch. One is an East German Classical that I walked back across Checkpoint Charlie with, but the other one is that Yamaha. If you should happen to drop in and want to jam (and you don't bring your own) I would be much more likely to take one out of the case than hand you either of those, but I just might let you try the Yamaha for the sheer joy of it! Probably the most road worthy Folk Guitar I have ever had the pleasure to own.

yamaha is better but what do you care, go cheep for now.

Yamaha, hands down.

I tend to say Yamaha

Yamaha...all the way.
