A real air guitar is free, but if you must hold a prop, it costs about $6: http://www.prankplace.com/inflatable_gui...

In terms of learning, it's all about natural talent - either you've got it or you don't. Just check yourself out in the mirror to see if you have the cool facial expressions, etc. It's more important to look good doing it than to be accurate.

just your imagination.

... that depends: is it a Les Paul, a Gibson or what?
it make take several lessons, but not as long as a regular guitar. Can i hear you play when you've mastered it?
*groovy*

?

About 5 dollars, plus shipping and handling.

Not expensive. Go at Cdn Tire and get the electric air pump in case you get wind out.

LOL

its free and takes seconds to learn and master

Make sure to get a decent air guitar. It has to be fit well for you. The fret board has to be nice and smooth, the sound precise. Don't worry about weight being a factor, because no air guitar yet has been considered heavy. Never forget where you put your air guitar. Sometimes it can be hard to find and you can accidentally hit and damage it. They sell air guitar tracking devices that can help you locate your air guitar. I recommend attaching one of these to your guitar. The average air guitar sells for around $1200, however they can be found cheaper, as well as more expensive. Your air guitar isn't really worth much without your air guitar amp either. Make sure to invest in an air amp that matches your guitars style. It takes years to master air guitar. Try learning simple riffs such as Iron Man and Smoke on the Water first. Eventually you just might be shredding out Metallica or writing your own stuff.
