Position:Home>Performing Arts> Need a very expressive song to sing???

Question:I'm auditioning for the musical "Aida" soon. My director is having us audition by singing any song or part of a song in 30 seconds to one minute using AS MUCH expression as possible. What songs do you think I should sing and why? Please don't include modern pop songs; I'm talking Broadway/Musical songs! =)
P.S. Thank you so much!

Don't Rain on My Parade from Funny Girl.
Listen to the cd of the musical CATS. Lots of short songs by various cast members. Chorus Line has the same format ( song for each cast member).
How about "Caint Say No" from OKLAHOMA. good luck!

try "Come To Your Senses" from "Tick Tick ... BOOM!"
or
"I'm Not Afraid Of Anything" from "Songs For a New World"

these songs have a lot of feeling in them. You can really get into these songs.

hope those can help a little bit!

To tell you the truth, the best song in my opinion is "it ends tonight". This song is really expressive just listen to it. Its by all american rejects. If you want a song about war and stuff and people's opinions, Civil war by guns n roses is a great song.

I'd reccomend:

"I'm not afraid of Anything" from "Songs for a New World"
"Why" from Tick-Tick Boom

or

"No-one but You" from WWRY
