Question:it is such a low sound and was popular between wwI and wwII. i don't think i can find at a regular local music store though. can you guys tell me where i can buy it?

You can't find it at a local music store because they aren't being made anymore. You have to either buy it used because there are plenty still in circulation, or, you have to find an independent specialist who makes them. Even with a used one, expect to spend a HUGE chunk of change whether it's playable or not (at least $8K+). You might find a knockoff company selling some bass saxes now and then. They aren't worth the money.

I could be completely wrong, but I recall my university's hunt for a bass sax over 3 years ago that came up empty-handed. We borrowed one from a collection of a neighboring university.
