If you do get one of those grip exerciseres be careful, if you over do you could damage your hands.....read the paper fully.!!! I have the Grip Master myself, but I'm half afraid to use it, I've done to many things over the years to my fingers and hands, to the point of having to see a hand Dr., but most of my problems were do to over playing, I use to play up to eight hours a day. I've taught classical and acoustic for over thirty five years and see this in a lot of students....you didn't give me enough information....how long have you been playing....and how many hours a day do you play....have you worked up to playing the amount of time that it takes to play these songs with speed.....have you worked on scales and other exersises slowly, believe it or not this is what builds speed ???? This is what gives you the ability to play fast, just doing chords over and over won't do it . I wish you would have told me how long you've been playing....this is important, because if you've only been playing a year or two this is your problem....some students take quite a while before they can play up to speed, they think that after a year of playing that they should be able to do just about anything that they want, but it doesn't work that way, everyone learns at a different pace....and from what I've seen today eveyone wants to play fast right away.....and it takes years for most to work up to the speed that they see the rockers play....most don't realize that they spent years learning their instrument. So if you haven't been playing for a long time don't worry about the speed it will come in time with hard work and patience, and don't be in such a hurry....you didn't learn to read overnight did you ???? Well good luck to you !!!!!!! and remember be careful of that Grip Master....you could damage something in your hands !!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. If you like Greenday, go on youtube, there's a girl on there who strums Boulevard of Broken Dreams.....now she just strums but if your a beginner this is about the speed you should be going....she's about sixteen sitting on what looks like her bedroom floor, she has a capo in the second fret....I think that this is the way a beginner should sound....she isn't worrying about speed.....and I like that.... Bye !!!!!!!!!!

forget wasting money on gimmicks...
what you need to do (well this is what i do) is just sit down and practice downpicking everytime you play guitar. Just downpick downpick downpick. do it when you're watchig tv, whenever you get a chance just practice downpicking. in a few weeks your wrist (and forearm) will be much improved
