What's a good starter electric guitar?

Question:I want to start playing the guitar, so I was wondering what's a good beginner's electric guitar? And should I get one with or without a whammy bar?

good is defined in many ways, but good beginner brands would be Squier, Epiphone, and Ibanez.
If you want an electric guitar, I would go with a bundled set, which comes with an amp.
Whammy bar is optional, but you will probably not use it when still learning.
