Position:Home>Performing Arts> What is wrong with my guitar?

Question:I got a new dean ML FBD not long ago and before i could even play the dam thing it is broken... it has a floyd rose floating bridge... i tune it up to standard or drop-d drop-c or down any steps for that matter and when i use the tremolo arm it brings it was out of tune... i set the intonation, replaced the strings, adjusted the truss rod, and got new tension springs... what the hell is wrong with it? im thinking it is the neck but im not sure... and it is a neck-through-body design so its not like i can just replace the neck and be good... can somebody help me out? is there something i can do to the truss rod? i took it to guitar center and they had no idea what was wrong with it.

Does it have a locking mecanism at the head stock? Yes? Then tighten it, maybe its loose.

Don't forget that drop D and drop C loosen the action tooooooooooooooo much. So , don't be surprise at the out of tune stuff.
It has nothing to do with the truss rod and if somebody tells you that, shoot him.
I repaired enough gibsons and fenders over the years to knwo that intonation, has nothing to do with the action or the neck.
Having said that, check in the back of the guitar to make sure that their are 5 springs , and not 3 springs holding the tremolo block.
Sometimes, I had the tendency to remove 2 sprins and just leave 3. But depended on the gauge of the strings. If you use super light, than 3 springs is not enough. Add a 4th. If you use light gauge, you can just use 3 springs.
This is more than adequate to hold the tension of the stirngs.

buy a gibson....

Maybe try locking tuners if it doesnt have it..? those help me.

try placing a block underneath your floyd rose. That way it cant go backwards. thier isnt enough tension on on the bridge when your tuning it down. so it overshoots when it comes back down. Look it up online. also try this website if you dont want to do that

After a break in period (5 days max) it shouldn't change pitch.

That's the whole idea behind the Floyd

Take it to a repairman.
