It isn't so easy, to cry whenever you want to. Do you think that even actors don't find it difficult to cry? You need just practice, the next time that you will cry for real reason try to remember your emotions. You will surely find a way to cry, you will surely find an event that when you are thinking of it you can cry. It can even be a song that when you are thinking of the lyrics you may wanna cry. Just don't push yourself! Try to feel like the person you are acting, to feel his emotions, to feel that he is you.Try to feel like you are facing his problems. After all, this is acting!

try smiling instead

Visine or water drops in the eye and rub your eyes to make them red

olive oil under the eyes, or onion extract

Lightly apply some Vicks vapor rub close to your eyes. That ought to do the trick. Or you should think of something sad. Duh. COME MAN !! YOU'RE A LOUSY ACTOR !!

You need to stop thinking you're such a manly man and just have some emotion. I'm sure you've cried before. I hate men who are such robots.

I've noticed that some actors simply crumple up their faces so it looks like they are crying but there are no actual tears. A red face and watery eyes (but not actually crying) can still be quite convincing. If you really need actual tears, just apply some eye drops when no one is looking.

Think about the person you love most in the world then kill them (imaginatively speaking) in the most horrible way this also works for yourself if you have no close friends/family/lovers/pets. Alternatively when was the last time you cried? why? recreate that memory........

Look at a bright light just before your sceen. That will help your eyes to water. Then go for thinking about your ex-girl friend or global warming or seal puppies or whatever sets you off.

Apparently, these actors use a little piece of spanish onion. That wil make you cry instantly.
That's why you see them put their hand near their eyes when they are about to cry.

the wonderful thing about crying in acting is that the only thing that makes it interesting is when the person is trying NOT to cry- so just focus on not crying when you come across the moments you think you should. SO much better to watch!
most actors cannot cry on cue- don't stress about it! if they really need you to they will get someone to coach you into it or put some glycerin drops on your face.
