You need a head shot and a current resume, $2,500 ready to buy your union card, transportation to Los Angeles for an audition, full time parent with transportation, the ability to get a California work permit.

If all that is together submit.

If you have a performance demo DVD of you in even a school play you can submit that as well.

All studios and TV stations are union and you have to be in the union to work there Report It

  • what kind of movie?

illegals are god's children, but they still don't deserve our social security, health care and educations.

round them up and send em back, pronto.

I act, too, and here's the deal:
You have less than a 1-in-a-million chance of finding reputable national television or film work via the internet. The majority of jobs that you'll find will put you in an audition situation, and when they call you back, they'll offer you an audition position at a film conference that'll cost into the thousands. Been there, done that - HUGE waste of time and hope. So, don't take any "auditions" you find at face value.

Now, where you live has a large impact on what avenues are available to you - some towns or cities have web sites devoted to the artistic community that will tell you about local, but that's mostly going to be commercials for local retailers or the once-in-a-blue-moon cattle call casting for a movie they need new talent for. However, that's a fantastic place to get started.

If film/television is truly what you want to do, I'd suggest saving up some money, learning how to act for a camera (it's different, I promise), and getting an agent. It's expensive, but short of moving to LA or somewhere else that's heavily involved in film/television, it's the only way to have much hope of any kind of semi-consistent work.

    Good luck, honey! :D
(Sidebar: Don't make the mistake of thinking that film is BETTER than the stage, like it's some sort of ladder - they're completely different animals.)
