well you have a natural talent if you hear sounds in nature! Alot of natural artists, painters, writers etc, aren't comfortable with technology! so don't beat yourself up about computers. For those with less talent, it will not be impossible to learn to read/write music. It will be more difficult, require more practice, and they may never have that 'edge' that a natural talented person may have. But not impossible! Nothing is impossible! If 'you' feel you have a gift from god, work with it. You will achieve success one day, i am sure. goodluck!

Its not impossible, but some people are more musically inclined than others. I play piano, guitar, mandolin, and sing, and i can barely read sheet music. It depends on the person. Reading music isnt the end all and be all of musical skill. I highly doubt half the bands you hear on the radio can read sheet music.

Writing music- As a band geek I would say no. All you have to do is figure out a key that it sounds best in. The best way to teach your self is using the music program Finale! Works every time! I taught myself and I even wrote Ciara- Like a Boy and we played bits and pieces in my band!
Reading music- Make acronyms!

i don't think its impossible, but some people find it extremely difficult and others it comes naturally. Another thing: are you good at math? Music is actually alot like math when you think about it. So just keep trying and it should come to you.

In my experience, everyone who can read words can learn to read music. However, those who can naturally play by ear often have less drive to learn to read music, get frustrated with sight reading easier, and usually give up before they learn how to read music proficiently.

As for writing music, you need the talent to "hear" at least the melody. The harmony and such can be done almost mathematically. It sounds like you have that talent. All you have to do is figure out how to get it on paper.

Now, for computer programs, Finale has a wonderful program you can download for free called Finale Notepad. The real program is really expensive, but much more powerful. If you're looking to buy a program, shop around. There are a lot of really great music programs out there.
