High-dollar guitars generally stay in tune better than the less expensive ones. Several tunings are required after installing a fresh set of strings, but they will set in and require little subsequent tunings.

I have an HD-35 Martin, a J45/50 Gibson, and an LG-3 parlor Gibson, a Gretsch Nashville Chet Atkins 6120, and several nylon-stringed guitars. All my steel-string guitars stay well tuned; I seldom play the nylon string guitars because they don't thicken the calluses sufficiently.

i tune it whenever it goes ou tof tune
it might be once a day or several times a day

i check mine everytime i pick it up

Every time I play and I check it between songs if I suspect it has drifted (which it usually hasn't) More need with gut & nylon strings than with steel

Everytime I pick it up to play it, I check to make sure its in tune, and if its not, I tune it.

Playing an out of tune instrument is NOT fun.

Every time I pick it up plus I check it between sets.

A good guitar stays in tune. Period. Cheap guitars, cheap keys never stayin tune for long.

Try Gibson and Fenders..... their tuning stay.I don't mean they never go out of tune but , ususally, it is the 1 and 2nd string.

As often as one holds a guitar . Before even strumming it. Habit.
One picks the strings one by one to test if they are on key.
Doesnt everybody do that?

It should be checked each time you play it. A electronic tuner makes it a whiz to do that.

Every time that I pick it up I check it, sometimes it needs adjusting and at others it doesn't......when you first put strings on it will need tuning every time that you pick it up.....and this could occur for the first couple of weeks !!!! Also sometimes as your playing it may go out of tune a bit and a little adjusting is necessary. For a free on screen electronic tuner go to this site : http://www.8notes.com/ click on the guitar....before you click on the guitar on the right hand side of the page you'll see where it says guitar tuner........hope this helped, good luck !!!!!!!!

well when i first put new strings on it i tune it every time i play it, sometimes you can only play for one song and you need to re tune it. the reason this happens is that the strings have to stretch out, once they stretch they stay in tune longer. if you are a beginner you should make sure your guitar is in tune each time you sit down to practice, if you dont have a tuner GET ONE!! you need to have one, ive been playing for 15 years and i still use a tuner to make sure my guitar is properly tuned even though i can tune it by ear.
once you have some experience and you know what the chords/notes are supposed to sound like you will know when your guitar is out of tune and not really need to check it manually each time you play.
it is normal to tune a few times a week at least if you play every day.

As often as it needs it. Sometimes, depending on the conditions this is every 30 minutes at others it can be a week. Just keep checking.

With fresh strings several times a day for three days.

Acoustics tend to stay in better tune than electrics.

On electrics the G B and E always do whacky things.

Whenever it sounds like I forgot how to play. Always check the tuning before you start to play anything. I usually play a few chords. That tells me right away.
