I comforted a family member during Christmas when another family member was causing drama for her.

A few friends and I wanted to be helpful over the summer and did a bunch of things ranging from giving flowers to a woman sitting alone at a restaurant table looking sad to cleaning up three tables at Pizza My Heart so the workers didn't have to.

It got me in the spirit and I've been trying to do stuff ever since. About a month ago I dragged this huge piece of cardboard out of the road and carried it about a mile to my recycling bin. I'm also part of the Free Hugs campaign. It's fun and easy to do kind things for others.

We spent Christmas with my husband's 85 year old Aunt who lives about 4 hours away from us. I cooked the meals over a 4 day period, did her laundry and some grocery shopping. My husband repaired her cement steps in the front of the house and we both took her to visit her 86 year old sister who lives an hour's drive from her. It wasn't a chore for any of this - to see her happy and comfortable was our accomplished aim.

One week before Christmas, I brought a computer over to my sister-in-law's house and set it up for her daughter. Their home is 3 hours' drive from ours. The poor little girl had dreamed of a computer for so long. Her mum is so poor that she barely has enough money for food and bills, let alone buying a computer for her daughter. The little girl was over the moon, although her mum couldn't afford to join Internet ( they don't even have a land line telephone ) but she's happy at what she's got now.

I take a BIG pot of soup, stew,(etc) to the Salvation Army every Sunday, during December, to help feed the less fortunate

I gave my workmate his rent, although that in itself has left me short of money for the month, it's better than him being out on the streets.

I do little things for people on an almost daily basis, at least I try to :)

prayed for a friend that is in a coma and the lord made him better!
