Why is it that you need your nose to sing?

Question:you breath with it while you sing, it helps you not sound nasal (you just have to know how to you use itr properly), and it can help you reach higher notes.

you dont need your nose to sing but you need your nose to breathe

While you do and can breathe out of your mouth, there's going to be some air expelled through the nose. Also, if you're able to breathe through the nose while making sounds in the mouth, you might be able to generate longer notes. Or the other way around.

Breathing techniques have to do with tone, phrasing and sustaining notes.
