Best advice is to go to the music store and hold and strum all the guitars you can in your price range. Buy the one that feels and sounds the best. Hopefully you can get someone who knows how to play to come with you.

Guitar for Dummies is a good book for teaching yourself. Wholenote.com is a good web site with all kinds of guitar lessons and articles. There are free lessons on youtube also.

You can learn it as long as you have the discipline and determination to practice every day.

I'm curious about this myself. But I'm going to Guitar Center bc that's where my gift certificate is from.

And of course it's not too late to learn. I wish I started at 14 instead of 3x older!
