i play guitar and i know how that feels. ive got 5.
just keep begging and ask for one for christmas or something.

hmmm... talk to her about it and ask her why she doesn't want you to play guitar. Perhaps she thinks guitar is too manly or she can not afford one. Maybe... what you can do is ask her for lessons. The reason she may not buy you one is because you do not know how to play, or she doesn't think you can play.

If you have a job, just save up and buy one. Or just tell her you want to play the guitar to advance your skills and rhythm.

Promise To Do Both. If You Tell Her That You Will Do What She Wants You To Do If She Lets You Do What You Want To Do, Then She Might Get You The Guitar.
Learning Both Might Be Good For You Musical Abilities, But If You Really Don't Like The Piano, Tell Her.

I Have A Similar Compromise With My Mum, But With Calligraphy And Blacksmithing, Not Piano And Guitar.

It sounds like you have already tried. maybe if you clearly write a note from you heart to her it might help. Just leave it under her pillow, or other place, where she can find it, read it, and consider it without giving an immediate response. Sometimes we don't really recognise the importance of something to someone verbally, or are otherwise distracted. This will give her a chance to "hear" you, and consider what you have said. Good luck, Merry Christmas.

if u can, try raising ur own money, and show how determined you are. but if you are to buy a guitar, don't go on buying expensive onces like Gisbon and all. im just saying that ur mind might change later on.

if u have ur heart set on it, who's there to stop u but urself. don't let things get in ur way...

yahoo has a group called freecycle. You could put in a wanted post for a guitar and see if you get one for free. If it's not a good guitar, it's something to learn on, at the least. Once you have a guitar in your possession, it will be much easier to convince her to get lessons.

Why not drive to a used instrument shop.
Try out the instrument first, if you actually find it fun, then try to convince her.
You can buy one yourself, acoustics don't cost alot. And used ones cost even less (I recently found 1 in near perfect condition for $25)
