Position:Home>Performing Arts> What song should i sing for my audition? i want more of a simple song.?

Question:i am auditioning for a really good chior. i am already in a couple but this one is pretty profesional. i have a lower voice and just want a simple song that will show off my voice well. I really dont want a song that i have to belt because i dont think that will sound very well in an audition expecialy if i have to sing with no music behind me. if you click the link it will tell you more about the chior. http://www.vyo.org/index.phppage/action/...

My internet won't let me open the link, but if you live in England you would have heard Leon Jackson's 'When You Believe' (X Factor Winner). His is a deep song but it's one you can really get into and sing along to.

Try one from a well known musical - depending on how professional the choir is, you could try a West End/Broadway musical, or just something from High School Musical.

I don't know how old you are, but if you're still in school have a talk to your music teacher. They should know a whole lot of songs, and if you have a male teacher/deep female teacher, they might even have a song idea they did for an audition.

Good luck with your auditions, I'm sure you'll do fabulous!! xx

I Am Beautiful by Christina Aguilera

Try anything from
Bye Bye Birdie it has some great non belting songs good luck :)

I think 'What a Wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong, or if you're audtioning around christmas time, 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas'. Good Luck!!

You can't go wrong with "I Fall to Pieces", by Patsy Cline.

Our Song by Taylor Swift Breaking Free HSM I sang them and got in choir when I did.

Some easy ones.....

"Crazy"
"Love Is A Many-Splendored Thing"
"Climb Every Mountain"
"Do-Re-Mi"
"Doe---A Dear"

The last 3 songs are from "The Sound of Music"--known for its several memorable songs.

Avoid "My Favorite Things". It is too bouncy, too jumpy, and it has a lot of intervallic leaps---even though it is a famous song.

Good luck at your audition.....

How about "Les Feuilles Mortes"/"The Autumn Leaves". Its a beautiful song and you can sing it in Francais or English. Plus its simpler and good for lower voices.

if i were a bell - guys and dolls
