Position:Home>Performing Arts> Ways for dealing with Stagefright/Stage Paranoia?

Question:Alright. I have a orchestra concert coming up(if you are wondering, i play viola) with my high school. Its not like im going to be the only person on stage, there will be 60-70 kids up there. I sit relativly close to the end of the stage though. I know all my music and I've been through a dozen shows before, but I always get worried not neccesarily about screwing up but just being in front of about 200 people. Its probally silly to be worried, but what are some ways i can calm down and not worry. Thanks!

You can use different visualization strategies (i.e. picture audience in their underwear). Exercise can help. Also make sure not to overuse caffeine because it can make you more jittery. There are lots of good strategies like this at this website: http://www.antion.com/articles/stagefrig... Good luck! I know you will do well!
