Position:Home>Performing Arts> What is the order of songs in the first English Suite?

Question:My CD (Glenn Gould Edition) and sheet music (edited by G. Henle Verlag) have different listings.
The CD includes a Sarabande after after the two Courantes. My sheet music skips the Sarabande and calls the piece the first Double. The CD's Sarabande and the sheet music's First Double are the same song. WHICH IS CORRECT???

According to Wikipedia, the order of the 1st suites is as follows:

Prelude, Allemande, Courante I, Courante II, Sarabande, Bourrée I, Bourrée II, Gigue

I believe you will notice that Courante II has (avec deux doubles) after it which is French for "with two double". If you look at the music for the two doubles, it is VERY similar, just decorated.

I am currently looking at a cheap Dover edition, but it does include the Sarabande - which is not the same as any Courante. The media file on wikipedia is the same music as the Dover I am looking at.
