Question:I have just began hand position changes between Middle C positon, F position, and G position. I've been working on if for about four days, and a few different pieces to mix it up.
However, this moving the hand positons seems to be like really slow for me. I keep making momentary pauses to make the change - maybe I have to think about it first, not sure.
Is there something I have to do to help speed up these changes, or will it just come naturally by continueing to practice daily. I do practice about 3 hours daily.
How long do ya think it would take to see a significant difference?

Thank all of you kindly for answering ....

It's great that you practice so much! Practice will make a *huge* difference -- before too long you'll start to develop a muscle memory for those hand changes, and in time you'll do them automatically, without even thinking, and eventually without even being aware that you're doing them.

here's a trick that helps me a lot: play along with a metronome, so that you have to play in time.... don't let yourself get off tempo, even if it means playing wrong notes at first. Start very slowly, and work your way up to the tempo you want to be playing at.

hope that helps you too!
