Can't wait becuase im getting a Guitar!?

Question:I can't wait because I'm getting a 250$ Guitar tomorrow for Christmas. Hows it like to have a Guitar and what are good sites to learn how to play Guitars . I'm just 12 years old and I really want to learn how to play a guitar.

It is kewl!! Chicks will dig you. It's really awsome when you start learning some songs and can get together with other musicians. Jamming is the best!!

You may want to get a book like "Guitar for Dummies" (no joke). It is really a great book for somebody teaching themself guitar.

There are plenty of web pages with online lessons www.wholenote.com is one of them and is a great site. There are also some free lessons up on youtube. Search there for "guitar lessons." Search the answers here for online guitar lessons or "how to learn guitar" and you will see tons of sites and resources.

Just remember to practice every day for at least a half an hour. (hour may be better, actually the more you can practice, the better) It may be tough at first. It may hurt until your fingers on your fretting hand get callouses. (Put some alcohol on your fingertips before you go to bed and let it dry. That will help them to form.) Also you may not feel like you are making music until you learn how to strum with rhythm with your strumming hand and switch from chord to chord smoothly with your fretting hand but just stick with it and hopefully it will eventually click.

I'm getting one for Christmas too. I played one a little at my friends house and it's great once you learn a few riffs, but hard to get at first. He learned at justinguitar.com just click the beginners link in the sidebar, it's a really good site and it's all free.
