What is a fastest and best way to learn the guitar???

Question:I want to learn electric and acoustic but i don't know which to start with. I don''t want to take lessons because I can't afford them but I am willing to spend time reading and learning from a book or video. Can you recommend any books that I can buy that will help me learn the guitar.

There is no fast, or best way. First you'll have to figure out what you want to play. Starting on an electric might be easiest, because the neck is thinner. You'll have to condition your fingers first, otherwise you'll be in a lot of pain, and the notes will sound lousy. After several weeks of properly conditioning your fingers, you can start to practice chords, or short leads. There are many web sites that offer free lessons. Good luck.
