frebreeze!!!

air freshener

and for the ppl

perfume for the ladies

colon for da guys

baking soda and air it out for a few days in the sun if possible.
those scented powders for removing pet odors are good too, same idea as baking soda. its got moisture in it, so once you get the moisture and smell out, leave it open now and then, and wipe down any parts of the trumpet that may be wet to prevent it from coming back.
if it has a spit vlave always empty it and wipe it down.
the goal here is to dry it out as much as possible. the moisture is the main problem.
the baking soda will soak up the stink

febreeze will work but for beter results put it out side on a hot day in the shade if your worried about the case and just let it air out + febreeze if you want.

Ah, the smell of rust, mildew, and mold.

I suggest you take it to a professional repairment for a cleaning. They have the chemicals and cleaning solutions to remove tarnish and mildew--this will remove the bad smell from the trumpet (This happens with older trumpets and trumpets that have not received adequate care).

When you get the trumpet back, put it in a SAFE spot and leave the case open and empty in a well-ventilated place for a day. You can spray it with Febreze and then vaccuum it out. Do NOT put the trumpet back until the case is dry if you choose to febreze it.

Secondly, is there white dust in the case? Sometimes moths like to eat instrument case interiors, especially old ones. If that is the situation, I suggest you buy a moth ball and let it sit in the case with the lid shut for one week to kill the moths. After that, do like I mention above--febreze and vaccuum it.

Or, you can ask the repairman to clean your case while he's cleaning your trumpet.

try putting a couple of sented dry sheet's in your case i used a couple in my truck for air fresheners and they worked great ..good luck

use febreeze and make sure to leave it open to dry for a while, you don't want it to get all over your trumpet :)

I think the obvious thing to do would be get a new case.
