Question:What's the average price of an cedar solid top acoustic/electric guitar? Like a price range so I have an idea of how much they cost.Also what are some good brands? is greg bennet any good? Thanks

If you're a beginner (and I suspect you are, or you wouldn't be asking here, you'd be asking your local guitar shop guys?) you cannot go wrong with the Yamaha F310. The page linked below says the Seagull S6 is better, but I've never touched one.

You should pay between 200 and 350 for a good guitar -- don't get a cheapass one -- they can have so many acoustic problems, action that's too high for new fingers, etc, that you will have to fight your instrument just for the desire to play it.

Buy a good one, and either outgrow or sell it if you decide it's not for you -- it will retain value just fine.
