Question:I know you cna't be good at everything, but I am a little disappointed that im not better at playing instruments. I mean I try, but others seem to be able to make songs and play gitar better than me. So effortlessly. I'm a great writer and artist, and I can sing very well, but without being naturally talented in songwriting or music ing general, I feel kinda hopeless.

Is there any hope for someone who wasn't born with a natural talen in the music area?

As a professional Guitar teacher.. Practice makes perfect. First of all, don't practice what you know already. it's a waste of time. Practice on your weak points.
You say you're a great writer and artist but not talented. Hmmmm
Nice contradictory statement. If you can write and sing, then obviously, you do have some talent. No ? Am I missing something here ?

The answer to your question lays within the question itself! You said tht yourt terrible with playing instruments, but that you are a writer, an artist, & a singer! Lay the instrument down & sing, girl!!! Stop trying to be what you are not, & simply be you! Don't worry that you are unique & others can't do the things that come easy to you! That's your job in society! Sing, girl!!! Write!!!! Make art!!!! Do what you do!!! Stop trying to please others, please yourself!!!!

i know this feeling. I have played with people that can listen to a solo on a record and play the whole thing back for you. There definitely seems to be a knack.

But, I also knew someone that could not tune his guitar, but he was persistent and dedicated at learning. I recall him playing scales and arpeggios until the cows came home. Now, you can hit a note on a piano and he will tell you what note it was. He is now a bandleader at a famous hotel.

Yes, some people have a natural feel for music, but others can develop it if they really want it.
