Question:I am auditioning for a serious melodramatic role - we have to present 3 pieces for the audition. I was thinking two serious pieces and and a comic piece - what do you think? (And yes, I will have to perform ALL three pieces!!)

I would actually choose an active serious piece, and active comedic piece, and then either a narrative piece or one of those monologues that are funny, even while the character is completely sincere. (Or, depending on the range required for the character, do your comedic piece, then a very dark serious piece and a lighter serious piece - you just don't want your serious pieces to merely echo each other.)

Yes, I think it's agreat idea to show all the skills you have..
