Artist????

Question:For those of us who are Arist, do you feel as if it is a second religion of sorts? I almost feel as if it is a mission to spread my art (opera) who know nothing about it. What do you think?

I don't feel it is a second religion. I am compelled to create, I have never been compelled to worship. I feel it is a connection to the Universe that few others enjoy or even understand. It gives vision and depth of thought and feeling. The true artist is bound by his own creative power to spread the art he creates, be it bad or good, visual, audio or through movement of limb. It is almost like we cannot breathe if we keep it to ourselves. Spread it my friend...around the whole world if you can. I don't make a dime off of my art usually, and don't care, it is enough that I can do this thing so well and even my other creative friends envy my skills, no brag. All artists must have ego.

I can see you feel strongly about your art. Don't treat it like a religion though; religions envelop you and stifle you. I can understand why some artists treat art as their whole life though. Sometimes you feel you ARE your art.
