Position:Home>Performing Arts> Blackmore′s deadly sologuitar on "child in time"?

Question:can some other guitarrist do it, I doubt it

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: can some other guitarrist do it, I doubt it

The thing to consider is that Blackmore created it. Anyone with any facility on the fretboard can learn the notes. It took a left handed guitar player playing right hand style to come up with the solo in the first place however. Almost makes me want to set up a guitar upside down and backwards to see what my right hand can do on the fretboard. If I wasn't older than dirt and twice as crusty I might have time to make the switch! I wonder how many guitarists play the fretboard with their dominant hand?

I can't. I can do the one for The Beatles 'Get back'. lol

You wouldn't have to be Steve Vai to play that. It's the same, albeit fast, pentatonic scale run at different parts of the fretboard.

Well. Richie Blackmore is and always will be the madman. :-)

But still, that is nothing compared to what he did on Machine's Head's "Pictures of Home."

Sorry for the sucky 70's video, but the music is right off machine head.
And Steve Morse totally borked P.O.H., youtube for "orchestral pictures of home"

In the USA you need to say Deep Purple then they will know but Steve Morse is now the Guitar player and he can play this solo .
It is an amazing solo I like Blackmore′s best.

try not to annoy to many people on 'ere
but i reckon this as got to be one of if not the best guitar riffs of all time....
