Position:Home>Performing Arts> How can I learn to play the flute in 2 days??

Question:I wouldn't say it is impossible to learn how to play in two days. Granted you probably won't be very good after two days. But you can probably get a sound out and play a basic tune (think Mary Had a Little Lamb or Twinkle Twinkle). Becoming a proficient flute player that may take years.

As far as learning how to play I would start out on just practicing how to make a sound out of the head joint. Once you got that down I would then add on the body and then the foot joint. Fingerings might take a while to memorize so keep them near you. When I was learning how to play I would practice the fingerings on a pencil (when I was in class) so if you're the kind of person that needs to keep your fingers busy I would do that.

Also look on you tube for flute lesson videos. You won't be able to get any feedback on your playing but the videos might give you some good suggestions. Also check for flute forums. Many flute players are more than willing to offer their expert or non expert opinions and advice.

So you might be able to get some of the basics down in 2 days. Will you be good as James Galway or a middle school student? Definitely not.

Give yourself time. Like all instruments it takes time.

Go back in time and take lessons.

Every half an hour in the day use for a flute practice.

you can't!

hmmm, I do not think you can. Especially when they say the flute is the hardest instrument to learn.

sorry not possible

Um, unless you're a child prodigy, you cannot.
But, you can learn to fake it a bit if you give us a little more detail on what you're trying to accomplish.

you can't. took me a semester and a half to learn and i've been playing 5 yrs. im trying to teach my sister. she knows 2 notes, and we worked on it for like a wk

You will probably barely be able to produce sound in two days if you've never tried before.

Sorry you can't learn an instrument in two days.

If you want to pick up a skill that takes two days to learn, I suggest you don't choose to play an instrument.

Not possible sorry honey!!! If you are starting from scratch. Thats like starting to study for an exam 2 hours before it starts!! Its not as easy as it looks!

Not going to happen, you might get a sound out, but no guarantees it could be considered a note even....flute is a tough one...players are a dime a dozen, but true flautists are rare
