Opera Singers?

Question:I was just wondering if there was any inspiring Opera singers out there? I am one of them. If you inspire to sing Opera, please let me know and tell me why.

we all hope to be inspiring. Do you mean, aspiring?
there are a lot of universities with excellent opera programs nowadays. Some of the larger opera companies have intern programs which are difficult to get into, but worth the audition.
all of us start out small, and keep singing church concerts, community concerts, etc in order to build up the actual performance experience we need to add the polish to our sound. finding an agent is an expensive necessity. auditioning another necessary event to get through, over and over again. Dealing with criticism ( often unwarranted and cruel) is a survival skill. there's just no easy way to go about it! the music is the reward, of course ( the money certainly isn't).

Lol I think you mean 'aspiring' singers...anyway, well I don't really aspire to sing opera (that's a bit too ambitious when I don't even know how much potential I have yet), but I do want to be able to sing classically on stage. Not necessarily a full-length recital, but good enough to stand up there and sing at least a few songs without killing people's ears. Of course if I have the ability to sing opera, I'd want to try it. It's so interesting to watch opera singers perform and act and sometimes dance at the same time. Must take lots of coordination. But I won't know for at least another couple of years because firstly I'm too young to have a mature voice now, and secondly I just started vocal lessons. I love singing, have loved it since I could remember. Singing for me is as exhilerating as playing the piano, and I can't imagine not being able to sing. I didn't sing for a whole week (because I was concentrating on a piano competition) and it was torturous! Couldn't wait to get back to it.
