Middle school choir?

Question:our 8th grade choir are doing high school all state pieces (we also got 2nd place in a out of state competition against freshman and sophomore as our competitors) with out many struggles and our choir teacher is still saying how we need to get better and how we need to watch better middle schoolers sing so he gave a live tv show which is a christmas festival with other local middle schoolers singing..i was expecting to see something great..but i hear crappy 2 part harmony and there are no choirs who are singing the level of music we are..i think our teacher was giving us a mixed message anyone care to tell me what it is??

Instead of asking strangers, why don't you ask the director? It is their job to clarify their points to you, and if there is something you don't understand, they need to know so they can improve their methods of communication.
