first of all, rachels answer has a mean tone to it, but she is right in one thing---you gotta work at it!!!
controlling a brass instrument is hard, it takes practice!!!
work on scales, lip slurs, velocity excercises, tone production, and memorization of fingerings.

work with; the better players in the mello section one on one, get a private teacher,...

getting good at something does not happen overnight, it takes dilligence and patience, those two character traits are what make musicians awesome!! we take the time to work on our craft, to perfect our abilities,...

remember; you can post, or you can practice. mellophone is hard-so it will take time.
and every time you put your horn down, somebody else is still practicing.!!!!

dont let the fact that it is hard deter you, dont get/stay discouraged---quitters never get far in our world and you will just feel like crap if you give up. if this is a true desire of yours-then give it everything you have!

first of all ur an idiot

second of all, you probably wont be playing

third... are ur band directors idiots to think you can play so quickly? or is ur music just that easy

if you want to just play, then learn, but if you want to sound good, you dont have much luck

sorry, but it isnt somthing to learn over night, if u are going to play and march, get playing now, marching seson is comming... eventuly

u have been asking a whole lot of questions, just go talk to your director!!!!
