Position:Home>Performing Arts> What's going on with my guitar tuner???

Question:ok so im plucking the b string and a strings and all that stuff, but my tuner registers it as low e's or e's, basically the wrong strings. this is the first time ive used a tuner, and im only borrowing till i see if i like it. usually i compare my strings to my friends since he tunes it all the time. i dont get it, what do i have to do to get the tuner to tell me if the string im actually plucking is too high or too low??? thanks in advance, any input is apprciated.

Try this in the mean time.

Not sure what tuner you have, but some will have to be switched manually to the correct string you are working on, or you may have one that is chromatic meaning it will not need to be switched. The other possibility is your string tension might be really high or really low and registering as pitch E.

press the mode button a couple of times till it says auto. hope that helps.

you need a chromatic tuner they skip all the nonsense and just tell you the note plucked
