I have been a professional musician and educator for over 30 years. You are at the end of a LONG line - which does not mean you cannot work your way to the front, but it will take some effort! You clearly have the zeal - now you need EDUCATION - training - experience - call it what you will. For quite a while, New York University used to put in their ads that EVERY Broadway show then running had at least one graduate of their program in the show. What does THAT tell you?? That everyone who is now auditioning has a LOT of education and experience! And those people who are not chosen for Broadway are working at the next level down, etc., etc. So - get yourself the BEST education you can. You need to do this in a big city, where the theaters are - not in the middle of no place, where you cannot TELL what the real-world competition is. So - start applying to really good colleges! Best of luck to you!

Wow, this question gets asked a lot. All I have to say is that you should try out for local choirs and keep practicing. Keep auditioning for bigger and bigger gigs and eventually you will get a part. You have to start out small. You will not get famous over night, but I hope that you get the recognition you are searching for. Good luck!!! =D

If I could figure out how to do this, trust me I would. I usually just sing everywhere I go, that way if I get lucky and someone notices, I'll get support or encouragement to keep singing and trying to make it. You need to make your own opportunities in this world, so go to an agency or try something else. the choice is yours.
