Position:Home>Performing Arts> Guitar string unclear vibration?

Question:Hello, I have a Japanese Squire Strat, and the two bottom strings , the b and the e, produce unclear vibrations. They are tuned correctly but produce a scrubbing (for lack of a better word) sound. The peculiar thing is that, the e string produces a clear sound when plucked down but makes the rusty sound when plucked up. Vice versa with the b string. What can I do about this?

It sounds like you need new strings. The harmonics are probably being produced by separation between the core and the binding of the strings. It is quite unpredictable as to when and how the buzz will manifest itself.
