What should I be doing as a musician at 17?

Question:I am a musician and I love playing music. However I have very few opportunities to 'jam' with other musicians and I feel like I should be doing something more if I want to do anything with music in my life. I play guitar bass vocals keys and harp. I know that if I wait until college I will opened up to many more opportunities. But I still feel like at 17 I should already have a band together (though I have been in several successful bands) and be much further along than I am. Does anyone have any personal experience being in the same situation? Or are there any steps I can take to get somewhere more by myself? I continually write, and I have a large number of songs that I have recorded all parts on, and a pretty large song bank because of this. I just feel like I should be further along at 17, and I am wondering if anyone has any advice.

No there is no set expectations on 17yo performers! Just concentrate on practice and immerse yourself music. Especially if you want to be a performer, Take lessons with all kinds of teachers! Enjoy your music while you are young! Be in a band if you want to but there is no goals that you have to reach by 18!

you need to practice alot so that when the opportunity comes along your ready!
