Position:Home>Performing Arts> How do I find musicians in my area?

Question:I just dropped out of college for violin because I realized I wasnt going to make any money in it but still would love to do it as a serious hobby. My favorite form is quartet, but I have one big problem...I am only one of what should be four. I need a first (or second) violin, a viola, and a cello in Florissant MO area(near stl). If anyone on here would like to join me, or if you know of a better way to look for musicians, please let me know.

Advertise on Craig's list, and put notes on bulletin boards at local libraries and colleges and music stores.

Try the local office of the musician's union.

Go to the music stores in your city and ask if you can post fliers for musicians to audition for your quartet. You can also post in the Music Department of the Universities in your city.

Try Bandmix.com it helped me it might help you, Good Luck though.

Craigs list, and flyers in all the music stores should get you some results!!! Good luck!!!

You can put up a notice at a college.
