Where abouts are you planning on going to school? depends on the area.

The best one by far is the Guild hall in london - superb facilities, excellent training and great students too, its the one I recommend - see: http://www.gsmd.ac.uk/

Also redroofs theatre school in reading, my friend attended and has gone on to perform in various things.

Generally, any college that offers a BTEC in performing arts is also a good option to start off with if you have no previous qualifications as the guild hall offers a degree in the subject.

BTEC First diploma, followed by BTEC national and then either a HND course or degree programme.

Auditions usually involve, singing, acting and stage presence judging - use an area you are most comfortable in: for instance, choose a really good monologue to wow your assessors, once that will make them sit up and take notice/

I originally got onto my BTEC course by doing the song 'cabaret' to piano complete with bowler hat and then doing a monologue from a scene in abigails party.

You may need to secure accommodation in london should you choose the guild hall...prices and areas vary but usually you can get plenty of people to share with you - college, you can stay at home perhaps.

Qualities and talents: singing, acting and good sense of ryhthm/movement is usually what you need, along with an outgoing personality and plenty of charm : )

Good luck x

The Conference of Drama Schools website includes a prospectus for most drama schools in the UK

I went to Lamda. So of course that's the best one!!!
Usually you audition for the BIG 5 :Lamda, Bristol Old Vic,Guildhall, Rada and Weber D. It costs money now. Just to aud! Usually you do 2 min Sha're and a modern. And a song. Unaccompanied!. At call back you may be asked to sing again and dance.
I think that drama school can't teach you to act but it can make what comes out of you better!!!
